Intro
The ski tour takes you to the unforgettable snow paradise of Upper Svaneti, in the middle of the Georgian Caucasus Mountains. The area is one of the most beautiful and impressive locations for winter holiday in Europe, with a modern ski infrastructure, mountains up to 5000m and medieval-type villages inscribed on Unesco’s World Heritage List.
The center of Upper Svaneti Mestia is an excellent place for overnighting and après-ski activities. The mountain town offers accommodations in every price range, takeaways and restaurants, bars, and saunas.

Near Mestia there are two ski resorts, the Tetnuldi Ski Resort and the Hatsvali Ski Resort. What distinguishes them is, that both have a well-groomed network of ski slopes, modern ski lifts, absolutely guaranteed snow with 2-meter-deep layers, snow caped fir forests and breathtaking panoramic views on the Greater Caucasus Mountains.
The resorts offer families and winter sport lovers excellent opportunities for relaxation, fun and enjoyment of various winter activities, such as skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, night skiing, sledging, sky mountaineering, paragliding, and horse riding.

You can rent skis, snowboards, sleds, and other ski equipment from 20 USD a day. For checking the actual availability of your ski equipment please contact our head office in Batumi.

For ski beginners and children there is a ski school, where you can get ski lessons from 15,00 USD per hour.

Itinerary

Day 1   Arrival

Arrival at Batumi or Kutaisi International Airport.
Transfer to your hotel regardless of your arrival time. Check-in.

Overnight in a *** hotel in Batumi or Kutaisi

Day 2   Batumi/Kutaisi – Zugdidi – Mestia

After late breakfast departure towards Mestia in Greater Caucasus. After 3 hours of driving along the black sea coast visiting to the ethno village Sisatura, near Zugdidi. The village is a living museum presenting the history and the traditions of ancient Cholkhis. Our host Marika welcomes you with delicious vegetables, local cheese, homemade bread and homegrown black tea.br /> Continue to the Enguri Gorge, to fir forests and alpine villages up to Mestia in the Greater Caucasus Mountains.
In the evening a dinner with Georgian specialties awaits you: Chikhirtma, a chicken creamy soup with eggs and lemon juice with corn bread and cheese; Kubdari, A Svanetian flatbread filled with hand-chopped lamb or veal and flavored with cumin, fresh salad, chopped carrot and beetroot spices with coriander, and as dessert Pelamushi, a grape juice boiled with corn flour and decorated with hazelnuts.

Day 3 – 6   Mestia - Tetnuldi & Hatsvali Ski Resort

Day 3 to 6 are all about skiing and other winter activities. Your guide will drive you at any time to the Hatsvali and Tetnuldi Ski Resort. You can use all lifts and slopes of the resorts.
Furthermore, the entire area is surrounded by high mountains with light to strong slopes, volcanic lakes, fir forests and smaller historical villages. You can walk in mountain villages such as Mazeri, toboggan near your hotel or built a snowman under the fir trees. For more fun you can rent a snow bike or a horse. 
If you like extreme sport and adventure your guide can accompany you to the frozen Koruldi Lakes, to the Mt. Decili up to 2578m or to the dark forests for challenging freeriding.

Day 7   Mestia – Batumi or Kutaisi

After the breakfast, departure to Batumi or Kutaisi.
On the way we do stop in Zugdidi and take lunch in a specialty restaurant.
Arrival in Batumi or Kutaisi late afternoon. Take the opportunity to stroll through the old quarters and have a nice farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 8   Departure

Transfer to the Batumi or Kutaisi Airport.

Ski Resorts

Tetnuldi Ski Resort

The Tetnuldi Ski Resort is 13 km away from Mestia. The resort offers perfectly prepared ski slopes, in altitude between 2260 m and 3165 m. The intermediate slope is the longest sky run in the southern Caucasus Mountains (9.5 km) and it has the biggest vertical drop of 1.7 km.  The total length of the sky run network is ca. 30 km. It is suitable for everyone, from beginners to professionals:

  Beginners – 1.7 km

  Easy – 6.2 km

  Intermediate – 9.5 km

  Difficult – 12.9 km

For the transport up to the slopes you can use two comfortable lifts working from 10 am to 16 pm. These are:

–    2 Six-person  chairlft
–    2 Four-person chairlift
–    1 Platter lift

Hatsvali Ski Resort

The Hatsvali Ski Resort is smaller than the Tetnuldi Ski Resort, but it is located only 1 km away from Mestia. There are best groomed ski slopes with overall length of 7 km, between elevations of 1868 m and 2348 m. The ski slopes are set up in different degrees of difficulty:

  Beginners – 0.5 km

  Easy – 0.5 km

  Intermediate – 1.6 km

  Difficult – 4.4 km

For a quick and easy transport there is a chairlift that connects Mestia with Hatsvali Ski Resort. It starts from 1428 m and goes up to 1898 m. In the ski area itself, there are 4 ski lifts:

–    1 Six-person  chairlft
–    1 Four-person chairlift
–    1 Platter lift
